Germall liquid is a colorless or slightly yellow transparent viscous liquid with a slight characteristic odor. It is a mixture of Genma II, IPBC, and propylene glycol. Some Genma liquid is composed of DMDM hydantoin and iodine propyl The composition of alkynol butyl carbamate is partially different from that of different manufacturers.

Applications

GERMALL PLUS is a combination of Diazolidinyl Urea and IPBC pre-dissolved in Propylene Glycol for ease of use. This combination exhibits a synergistic preservative effect, which reduces the total active preservative level necessary; provides for complete, broad spectrum preservation against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, yeast, and mold.

 

Compatible with most cosmetic raw materials. Can be used in surfactant based systems such as shampoos and body/shower gels, conditioners and other high water content products.

 

Ideal for water-in-oil and oil-in-water emulsions, creams and lotions, make-up and other highly pigmented products.

 

*Not for use in products intended to be aerosolized. Recommended use levels in a finished formulation is 0.1-0.5%. Add at 50°C or below during the cool down stage of processing.

 

Every cosmetic formulation requires a specific preservative system to meet its individual needs. Therefore, every newly developed or modified product should be challenge tested to assure preservative efficacy.
