Oxytetracycline hydrochloride is a tetracycline broad-spectrum antibiotic, which reversibly associates with the receptor on the 30S subunit of the fine nucleosome, interferes with the ribosomal complex formed by tRNA and mRNA, prevents the growth of peptide chains and inhibits protein synthesis, so that the growth and reproduction of bacteria are rapidly inhibited, and the bacteriostatic effect is produced. Oxytetracycline has inhibitory effects on gram-positive and negative bacteria, rickettsia, mycoplasma, chlamydia, spirochetes, actinomycetes, and amoebic protozoa. Bacteria are cross-resistant to oxytetracycline and doxycycline.
